It requires intrinsically interdisciplinary needs alignment with the core value of the organizational work field, and demands additional skills in computer application, psychology, societal communications, digital advancements, business and management laws, etc.
Thus, librarianship is an excellent profession for those who enter into it with a seriousness of purpose. Therefore, I am excited to welcome such devoted and dedicated aspirants.

We educate and train our students to meet the challenges of the fast-changing world of ICT by enabling them to:
- Learn and understand the foundational principles of librarianship, and advocate for the implementation of library and information laws, policies, and ethics.
- Understand the organizational vision, structure, hierarchy, systems, and social environment in order to achieve its goals, objectives, and mission.
- Identify the patrons and reader community of the organization, communicate with them to understand their information, research, and related needs, and address those needs within context.
- Recognize the importance of orientation and awareness programs, promote reading habits, and encourage the use of both print and digital research resources. Ensure optimal utilization of information resources and services.
- Establish a positive relationship between the information center, the reader community, and decision-makers.
- Design, advise policymakers, plan, and implement policies related to information resource procurement, management, budgeting, rules and regulations, collection development, and the customization and delivery of information services.
- Focus on the overall development of the library and information center, including modernization of functions, the application of new technologies, the acquisition of up-to-date print and digital resources, and the creation of new information services to meet the emerging needs of the teaching, learning, and research communities.
- Support the transformation of the library into a state-of-the-art knowledge center for research, intellectual, and innovative activities.
- Identify and explore emerging technologies, tools, techniques, and resources to meet the evolving expectations of a modernized knowledge society.
- Develop the competency to work independently or as part of a team to plan, manage, and accomplish small to mid-level projects.
